Vida Proxe

Vida is a Proxe (an evangelistic tool created by InterVarsity in the early 2000s) created for InterVarsity in conjunction with their Latino focus ministry, LaFe. Vida looks at How we mourn for our dead family and ancestors through the lens of Dia de los Muertos. I wasn’t able to do this project without a ton of cultural research and the team of Latino staff that helped bring this project to light after a year of research, development, and testing.

Fun fact: Before I was comfortable painting the faces of the two volunteer UW students on the first panel, I practiced on myself for a week in my tiny apartment bathroom.
